LeSlie, the baroness, was tall, slender and sylph-like. Despite her status she didn't like to be in the limelight. So when she was prevailed upon to open the village fête, she shyly came to the microphone and spent as little time as possible behind it to open the proceedings before slipping away to get on with her mathematical research.
