This is my 9-year-old Granddaughters' version:
MoLly And her family crossed the road To the Indian restaurant. They were serving lots of interesting foods. Her dad ordered some beer and said it tasted very malty. Mum had a chicken balti and said it was quite salty. The person at the front seat told me and Jim that they keep a tally of the people who visit.
This is my version:
AbduL And FaTema were under time pressure to work out their take on a perfect balti for their newly opened restaurant. Abdul was the cook, whilst Fatema kept a tally of what went into each recipe. They tried to see if they could make it malty, but it either was un-noticeable, or made it taste horrible. Eventually they were content, except to see how salty it should be to attract a good variety of customers.
